The CO2SMOS General Assembly, marking the 1.5 years since the start of the project, took place on October 24-25 in Valencia.
The consortium, gathering 15 interdisciplinary partners, met in person for a 2-days meeting dedicated to collaborative activities, discussion on results reached, and steps forward.
The first day kicked off with a welcome introduction and overview of the work done in the past months from the coordinator Raúl Piñero Hernanz (CARTIF). The consortium then had the opportunity to split into 2 parallel sessions to discuss 2 main areas of technological development in the project:
- Bioprocess & biotechnological approach
- Electrochemical/catalytic process solutions
The General Assembly continued on the second day with detailed presentations of the developments and results achieved in each work package.
We can say confidently that the CO2SMOS project is steadily proceeding step by step, thanks to the collaboration of an international and multidisciplinary consortium! As the preparatory activities are completed, the project moves now to a new phase, in which all 5 CO2SMOS technologies will be optimised and technologically validated at lab scale in partners’ facilities. We are looking forward to this important phase and to reach new milestones!
A special thank goes to CSIC and the Instituto de Tecnología Química (UPV-CSIC) for hosting the General Assembly in their beautiful Casa de la Ciència (the house of science) in the historical center of Valencia.
